Overview

Hermeus is developing reusable hypersonic aircraft, beginning with uncrewed high-speed test and combat vehicles for the US Air Force, and reached a $1B+ valuation in 2026. Co-founder Mike Smayda was a senior aerodynamics engineer at SpaceX working on rocket landing. The company moved its headquarters from Atlanta to California.
